1 Corinthians 1:10 NIV 2011
I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.
There was division within the church in Corinth. 1 Corinthians 10:17, “Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all share the one loaf.” Paul’s letter stated they were all part of the body of Christ. Their faith in the finished work of Christ was what united them. Romans 15:5, “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.” Jesus prayed for all believers. John 17:21, “that all of them may be one, Father…” Believers united in Christ glorify God.
What happens when we try to go our own way? Well for me it never ends well when I don’t include the Lord. The same thing is true when I’m working with fellow believers, we must work together with our focus toward Christ. I’ve tried various churches where certain members were totally in charge. I didn’t stay. My church in Ohio was wonderful. We were united in Christ and our church grew exponentially. Because we were united in Christ, each and every one of us was able to glorify God.
How do we daily glorify God?
United together in Christ,
