Psalm 5:12, John 1:16, 1 Corinthians 9:23 NIV 2011
Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with you favor as with a shield.
Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.
I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.
David’s psalm concluded with confidence that the Lord would protect His faithful. Psalm 32:7, “You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. John the Baptist said there was another that would come to save them. John 1:7, “He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe.” After meeting Jesus, Paul was blessed to reach the Gentiles. Believers are blessed through the Lord’s favor and grace.
It’s by God’s grace I was saved through my faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. It was through that gift from God I never knew I wanted. Along the road I’ve walked it hasn’t always been an easy one but it’s the greatest gift I’ve ever received. To have received the gift of grace has kept me focused on serving the Lord. Through it all, He’s been the beacon that shields me from the enemy. Even when trouble surrounds me, I feel His presence. I’m blessed daily through the favor and grace of the Lord.
How have we experienced God’s grace today?
Blessed beyond measure,
