Psalm 81:7, 10 NIV 2011
In your distress you called and I rescued you, I answered you out of a thundercloud; I tested you at the waters of Meribah.
I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will lift you up.
God heard the cries of His people and delivered them from their Egyptian masters. Exodus 2:23, “The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God.” He gave them direction through Moses. Exodus 19:19, “As the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and the voice of God answered him.” God delivered and guided the Israelites home. God desired His people to fellowship with Him. God feeds His ready, willing people. God rescues and fills those in fellowship with Him.
This message is true today. We need to be in fellowship with the Father daily. The festivals Israel had at the new moon and the full moon were meant to gather them in worship by remembering all God had done in their lives. The same is true for me. I need to be in fellowship on Sunday mornings with fellow believers singing and heeding the pastor’s weekly message. God lifts me up when my heart is open to Him. Reading God’s Word I find fellowship with Him fills me.
How does fellowship with God fill His people?
Filled to the brim together,
