Titus 3:4-6 NIV 2011

But when the kindness and love of God our savior appeared, he saved us not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and the renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior.

God’s grace offers salvations to all. Titus 2:11, “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.” Jesus was God’s love gift. Ephesians 2:7, “In order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.” The Holy Spirit begins the work in hearts of unbelievers. John 3:5, “Jesus answered, ‘Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.’” Faith in Christ saves sinners.

Remembering daily I’m a sinner keeps me humble. Do we compare ourselves with others and say I’m not as bad as that? I can only smile and know I’m a sinner just like that. When we look at sin, it involves thoughts as well as actions. I need to 10/5 it! 2 Corinthians 10:5, “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” I am no better than the next person. I’m a saved sinner.

How do we measure up?

Saved sinners,
