Luke 20:22-25 NIV 2011
“Is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”
He saw through their duplicity and said to them, ‘Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?’”
“Caesar’s,” they replied.
He said to them, “Then give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what it God’s.”
Jesus continued to answer questions and teach all that gathered at the temple courts. But those in power kept asking dishonest questions they thought would cause Roman officials to stop Jesus from continuing to speak to the people. Luke 20:19, “The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him immediately, because they knew he had spoken of this parable against them. ” He answered stating pay with the coin they earned. Nothing will ever stand in the way of the Good News of Jesus.
Pastor’s sermon today was “Christmas is the announcement of Good News of Great Joy” from Luke 2:8-20. “The shepherds received the message.” Pastor asked us, “Have you submitted your life to the Lord Jesus Christ?” I could only smile remembering when I actually did that. Nothing stood in the way of my uncle preaching the Good News. And nothing has stood in the way of my pastors, BSF Teaching Leaders or any camp counselors I’ve had. Nothing will ever stand in the way of me sharing the Good News of Jesus daily.
How will we share the Good News today?
