Psalm 23:1, 2 Corinthians 9:8, Philippians 4:19 NIV 2011
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need you will abound in every good work.
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
David began his Psalm acknowledging the Lord is his Shepherd-King. Because he knew this, there was no need to worry because the Lord would provide. Paul knew the Lord intimately and shared his love for the Lord with the church at Corinth. God alone would bless them. With God’s blessings all they needed to do His work would be provided. Paul reassured the Philippians “my God” was continually with them in any situation. Faith alone in Christ alone was the key. Faith and trust in Jesus Christ keeps the faithful focused.
As a young girl, there were times growing up fear crept into my nights. Giving my life to Jesus has helped keep those fears at bay. Being fearful of change hasn’t been something I’ve experienced but I do know many struggle with various kinds of fear. Anchored to Christ, I’ve seen Him guide me through troubled waters and more. Daily being in God’s Word keeps that anchor secure. It’s fun to reflect on all the times He’s with me. Faith and trust in Christ focuses me.
What fears keep us from moving forward?
