Matthew 19:14 Luke 18:17 NIV 2011
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
“Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
Crowds followed Jesus wherever He was teaching. The Pharisees constantly questioned and tested Him. Jesus was in Judea, Judah, the southern portion of the Holy Land. Families were bringing their children to touch Jesus. Luke 18:15b, “When the disciples saw this they rebuked them.” Jesus addressed the crowd that gathered. He painted the picture of all who receive the precious gift from God. Matthew 18:3, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children…” Jesus’ Words show no age limit to a person’s child like faith. Salvation is God’s gift to all who believe they are utterly helpless without it.
Realizing we are all sinners generally changes the way we think about our lives. This transformed the way I thought about the people around me. We all stand on level ground and no one is more or less sinful than another because in God’s eyes sin is sin. Approaching the Father as His children we each can humble our selves, confess our sin and receive His forgiveness. This is my daily walk with Him. We are all children utterly helpless without God’s great gift of grace.
How does God reveal His grace?
His forgiven children,
