1 John 5:6-8 NIV 2011
This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is Truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.
John’s first letter to the churches in western Asia Minor concludes with words to “Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.” Jesus’ blood was shed at the cross, John 19:34. “Bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.” Jesus is the Spirit of Truth, John 14:17, “the Spirit of truth…but you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” Faith and love for Jesus are signs of being born again.
Last night we sat at a table waiting for our dinner with eight people we did not know. One gentleman played drums in a praise band and was not afraid to speak his mind. Six were from the LA area, two from Utah and the two of us. At one point the conversation landed on the state of the nation and the need for prayer. Praying 2 Chronicles 7:14 for twenty-five years I quoted the Scripture. Being born again, I was led to share my faith and love for Jesus.
What is He calling us to share?
