1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 NIV 2011
We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Paul wrote to the church in Thessalonica to encourage the faithful. He began with thanksgiving for the work they were doing for the Lord just he did with the Romans. Romans 1:8, “First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.” They were praying for them. 1 Thessalonians 1:1, “Paul, Silas and Timothy.” Their tireless work for the Lord enhanced their faith. Their labor was motivated by love for Jesus prompting their personal commitment to share Jesus Christ. God uses willing servants to share The Good News.
A young man spoke this morning at our church about Generation Z. He’s on staff at the Southern Baptist Convention office here in Las Vegas as their director called to reach Generation Z. He asked us if we were concerned about the next generation. And then he asked, “Are you ready to reach out to them?” The responsibility for our girls attending church was mine. I prayed for them. We have four grandchildren. I pray for them. Sharing Jesus with them makes me God’s willing servant sharing His Word.
Where is God calling you to share Jesus?
God’s willing servants daily,
