Romans 8:38-39 NIV 2011
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, not any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Paul closed chapter eight of Romans stating they had nothing to fear as believers. God was with them. The One who saves sinners is the same who remains near through all of life’s struggles. Ruth was committed to Naomi’s God, 1:16c, “Your people will be my people, your God my God.” Fear may come from physical, emotional, extraneous or spiritual circumstances. There is one constant: God remains with those who are His. Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Believers that fear the Lord have peace.
24/7 coverage of the current medical situation is not the way I face each day. Yes, there are things I need to know but once it’s said, I don’t need fifty-seven other people telling me the same thing. I’m a quick study. God has given me more time to spend at my desk writing and studying His Word during the current virus quarantine. As a child I was fearful but now I trust the Lord with my life. Because I fear the Lord, daily I have peace.
How will we replace fear with faith?
