Isaiah 60:1-2 NIV 2011
“Arise, shine for the light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See the darkness covers the earth and the thick darkness is over the peoples; but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.”
Isaiah, God’s prophet sent to the people of Judah and Jerusalem, brought Truth to God’s rebellious people. They would be punished then be redeemed and restored by God after His judgment. One of Isaiah’s last seven chapters enumerated that the favor of the Lord would return to them after their exile. The Lord raised Judah from Babylon and returned them to their homeland. Zechariah 2:5, “‘And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the Lord…” He raised Jesus just as He said. 1 Corinthians 6:14, “By his power God raised the Lord from the dead…” God redeems all who believe Jesus is the Savior.
Easter Sunday 2021: He is Risen! No one attended Easter church service last year. Today was such a blessing to actually have two services. Greeting for both it was wonderful to see some members returning for their first time in a year. Pastor preached on Matthew 28:1-11: Jesus is the Resurrected Lord. He produced the evidence by the witnesses: the women, the angels and the guards. Even Tacitus, a Roman historian, Pliny, a Roman governor as well as Josephus concurred. Jesus came to save and redeem us.
Why do we believe Jesus saves?
Daily thankful I’m redeemed.
