Acts 2:24, 1 Corinthians 6:14 NIV 2011
But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.
Six additional times in Acts Luke shared God raised Jesus from the dead; Acts 2:32, 13:30, 13:33, 34, 37, 17:31. Paul reiterated this as well in his letters to the churches in Rome, Corinth, Ephesus and Colossae. The New Testament testifies to Jesus death and resurrection. John 20:9, “They still did not understand that Jesus had to rise from the dead.” None understood His deity. Romans 1:4, “and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.” Jesus rose from the dead to saves sinners.
Salvation started when Jesus died on the cross. But the rest of the story unfolds with His empty tomb. He didn’t remain dead but was resurrected on the third day, Easter. Before we come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we are dead in our sins. When we accept Christ as Lord of our lives, we are given a new life in Christ. It makes no difference what trial or tribulation I face. By leaning into Jesus, I have peace daily. I’m saved through Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Where is God’s resurrection power visible today?
He is risen indeed,
