Matthew 27:51-52a, Mark 15:38, Luke 23:45b NIV 2011

At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook.

The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.

Each of the first three Gospels record the same event after Jesus gave up His spirit. This curtain separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place. The Curtain was 8 centimeters/3.15 inches in thickness. It wasn’t torn from the bottom to the top. Hebrews 10:14, “For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.” Prior to Christ’s sacrifice, the priest was the only one who could be in the presence of the Most Holy Place. Jesus’ sacrifice made it possible for all who believe to have direct access to The Father.

The curtain being torn from top to bottom astounded me as a young woman. The fact that it was included in all three of the Gospels further mystified the event. After further study, I discovered the reason behind the barrier being removed. Jesus death caused it to tear. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for all sinners to be made holy. A personal relationship with Jesus is all that is required. Thankfully Jesus made it possible for me as a believer to have direct access to God The Father!

How will we share His amazing Truth daily?

Thankful for access to Him,

S
