Matthew 28:3-5 NIV 2011
His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him they shook and became like dead men.
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.”
John 20:1, “Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.” What they took as an angel was actually the risen Savior speaking to the women. The disciples were afraid in the boat on the water but Jesus met them where they were. Matthew 14:27, “But Jesus immediately said to them, ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.’” Jesus told His disciples the path He would follow to the cross and after, Matthew 16:21. Jesus death and resurrection gives sinners new birth and living hope.
Easter brunch today with family was a time of celebrating all we have shared as family. Speaking with my youngest sister she testified to the ways God has answered her prayers the over the last year. At the end of her rope with pain, she cried out to the Lord and He answered her prayers. Three of the four of us had undergone surgery in the last six weeks. We each have experienced the living hope we share in Christ.
Where is living hope through Christ seen daily?
