Isaiah 44:23 NIV 2011
Sing for joy, you heavens, for the Lord has done this; shout aloud, you earth beneath. Burst into song, you mountains, you forests and all your trees, for the Lord has redeemed Jacob, he displays his glory in heaven.
Isaiah offered hope and comfort to Israel reminding them of who God is and why He is worthy. He called on nature to join in the chorus of praise to God. Isaiah 35:1, “The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.” Isaiah12:6 “Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.” From the mountains to the seas, all people and nature are to sing praise to God. Psalm 98:8, “Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy.” The Lord is persistently worthy of praise.
Every book of the Bible reveals God’s faithfulness to His people. When unsure why I should praise or worship Him, I turn to the Psalms or Isaiah for a reminder. When I think of all the ways I may tackle a new situation and leave Him out of the equation, I’m robbing God of the glory He deserves. Just making my flight this morning I’m in awe of how He worked out the details with the last seat for me, an exit row middle seat. God deserves my daily praise.
