Genesis 3:23-24 NIV 2011
So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
Adam had access to all of the Garden of Eden except for the tree in the middle of the garden. When he accepted the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, sin entered the world. Genesis 3:21, “The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.” The first blood sacrifice for sin brought God’s judgment. They were banished from the Garden. Access to God the Father comes through Christ’s redemptive death on the cross. The Son’s sacrificial death on the cross has restored access to God the Father.
What was taken from Adam at the fall will be restored. Revelation 2:7, “Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.” Because I believe Christ died on the cross for my sins, I daily have access to the Father at any moment needed.
What ways will you fellowship with the Father this week?
Thankful Christ restored fellowship with God the Father,
