Psalm 27:13-14 NIV
I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
A Psalm of David offering confident prayer asking the Lord to deliver him from “the wicked” who were advancing against him. The confidence he had in the Lord is woven through out the Psalm and ended with that same unwavering confidence. God’s covenant with David promised “good” things, 2 Samuel 7:28, “And now, Lord God, keep forever the promise you have made concerning your servant and his house. Do as you promised.” His Psalm illustrates one who is alive and has placed his trust in the Lord. Believers can be confident, everything happens in God’s timing.
Standing by for a flight at any time can be a bit stressful. Deciding to wait an additional day can bring bonus time spent with family or friends. I always approach travel with an open mind knowing God is control of each move I make along the way. My assurance is like David’s keeping my focus on Him rather than the task at hand: getting to the next destination. As I sit, I do wait for the Lord, taking heart and again waiting on Him. In all the places we’ve been, we always get home. I am confident in God’s timing for my life.
How does God give us time to wait confidently?
Daily confidently waiting together,
