Jesus’ Words were strong and specific regarding salvation. Each disciple needed to make a public profession of faith. Matthew 16:16, “Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 1 John 2:22a, “Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ.” Paul, Christ’s apostle and evangelist, took the Truth one step further and offered steps to salvation. Confession of faith in Jesus Christ is necessary to be saved.
