Matthew 10:32, Romans 10:9 NIV 2011

“Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will acknowledge before my Father in heaven.”

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Jesus’ Words were strong and specific regarding salvation. Each disciple needed to make a public profession of faith. Matthew 16:16, “Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 1 John 2:22a, “Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ.” Paul, Christ’s apostle and evangelist, took the Truth one step further and offered steps to salvation. A verbal declaration like the Shema, Deuteronomy 6:4, “Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God, the Lord is one.” This led to a heart change giving the greatest gift anyone receives, salvation. Confession of faith in Jesus Christ is necessary to be saved.

Driving to the airport this morning was a time spent in prayer. (Yes, I daily drive and pray at the same time.) Sweet fellowship with the Living Lord of the Universe ensued. I prayed for my husband in Columbus attending a memorial service for his Ohio born golf partner. I prayed anyone that attended who did not know Jesus would meet Him there. I prayed for my trip that I would shine His Light as I travel. Shining His Light is subtle but confessing my faith is sublime.

How do you shine/share His Light?

Faith confidently confessed,

S
