Exodus 13:9 NIV 2011

This observance will be for you like a sign on your hand and a reminder on your forehead that this law of the Lord is to be on your lips. For the Lord brought you out of Egypt with his mighty hand.

God prepared the Israelites during their forty year wandering in the desert. He provided for them every step of the way. Deuteronomy 11:18, “Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds…” Song of Songs 8:6, “Place me like a seal over your heart…its jealousy unyielding as the grave.” God’s instruction to Moses echoed His loving care for His people. Exodus 3:20, “So I will stretch out my hand and strike the Egyptians with all the wonders that I will perform among them. After that, he will let you go.” Reflecting on God’s promised provisions reminds believers why we’re called to worship Him.

Paring down after moving, we spent time going through two full bins of pictures. Lots of memories of the years we’ve spent since birth. We took tons of pictures to our youngest daughter to keep. Her son loved seeing his mom when she was a little girl. I love sharing with all my grandchildren about their great grandparents and how they shaped my life. I also share how Christ has shaped my life. God promised to be with me always. I worship Him daily because of His promises.

How do His promises help us worship Him?
