Deuteronomy 31:23, Joshua 1:6, Acts 23:11 NIV 2011
Be strong and courageous.
Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.
The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, “Take courage!”
Moses spoke God’s Words to Joshua while commissioning him to lead Israel into the Promised Land. Deuteronomy 31:3a,b, “The Lord your God himself will cross over ahead of you…Joshua also will cross over ahead of you, as the Lord said.” The Lord spoke the same words given to Moses as Joshua stood poised to cross into the Promised Land. The Lord spoke to Paul as Jesus spoke to the disciples while walking on the lake. Matthew 14:27, “But Jesus immediately said to them: ‘Take courage…’”
Faith not fear drives Christians to be strong and courageous.
When was the last time we needed to be strong and courageous? I’ve never led a massive group of people across a river. I didn’t have to go by a slow boat to Rome. As a believer there are times when we need to be strong and courageous. I made a choice to attend our Wednesday night prayer meeting on May 20 outside six feet apart. Tomorrow our church opens for the first time with two services using social distancing. I will be strong and courageous as I worship our Great God.
How are we strong and courageous daily?
Listening together to Him,
