Romans 5:15 NIV 2011
But the gift is not like the trespass. For if many died by trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!
Paul’s second of four S’s found in his letter to the faithful in Rome was clearly defined in the last verses of chapter five. Salvation is God’s gift each is given when they, by faith choose to follow Jesus. All die because of the sin or trespass against God committed by Adam, “the one man.” Sacrificing perfect lambs in the Old Testament pointed to the final blood sacrifice made by the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, God’s gift. His sacrifice covers sin and justifies all who choose to follow Him. Sin’s guilt is gone through salvation tin Jesus Christ alone.
There is nothing anyone can do apart from Christ that will cleanse us. The guilt I feel when I recognize sin in my life is gone when I take that sin to Him, confess and turn from it. When guilt from sins in my past come to mind, I immediately take them to Him, confess and I’m forgiven. The enemy wants us to live in bondage to all our past sins. That’s my cue I need to remind Satan of his future. Daily as I walk with Jesus I’ve been set free from the guilt of sin.
What guilt is hauntings us?
