Matthew 2:10-11 NIV 2011
When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Months after the birth of Jesus, the Magi visited Jesus and his mother. Matthew 2:1, “After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem…” Isaiah wrote of the arrival of the promised Messiah. Isaiah 60:3, “Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.” The Magi were sent by King Herod to search for the Child. Matthew 2:12, “And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.” Wise ones still seek Jesus Christ.
Spending time in God’s Word feeds my sin sick soul. Paul’s letter to Timothy is filled with challenges. 1 Timothy 4:13, “Until I come, devote yourself to public reading of Scriptures, to preaching and to teaching.” I remember reading Isaiah to my mom after my dad’s stroke spending many late nights drawing comfort from God’s Word. I’ve never preached a sermon but have shared the Good News. Years in BSF were filled helping women study God’s Word. In VBS we reached young ones. I’ll daily continue to seek Jesus Christ.
How do we spend our days?
Wise ones still seeking Him,
