Romans 5:2, 2 Corinthians 3:11 NIV 2011
Through whom we have gained access by faith into the grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.
And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!
Followers of Jesus Christ received direct access to God at the cross. After Jesus’ death, the temple curtain tore from top to bottom. Matthew 27:51, “At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two.” God’s people were no longer separated from God and were given hope. Jesus Christ restored the relationship between man and God. Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” The old covenant, which was transitory, God gave in the Sinai desert and replaced it with the new covenant, Jesus. Believers have living hope through Jesus Christ.
Standing by for a flight to Las Vegas on a Friday night, I turned in hope to Jesus. Was everyone in all of Seattle getting out of town and headed the same place as me? I spent my time with the youngest of our grandchildren, sweet Helen. Our favorite times happened while singing “Good Morning God” whenever we needed a quick pause in the day. I felt God’s presence when we sang and rested in His glory as we walked daily. I have living hope through Jesus Christ.
How do we experience living hope in Jesus?
