Psalm 18:20, 24 NIV 2011

The Lord has dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands, he has rewarded me.

The Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.

David’s psalm was spoken after God delivered him from his enemies and Saul. The Lord rewarded David’s righteousness. His words revealed his life in contrast to those of his enemies much like Hezekiah prayer. 2 Kings 20:3, “Remember, Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” David devoted his life as well as his heart to live a life worthy of God’s gaze. Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” God renews and changes the lives of those who belong to Him.

The day I placed my broken, sinful self in the hands of the Master, He made my life complete. He gave my life story one of beauty and hope. There was nothing I needed to do but take Jesus as Lord and Savior of my life. Confessing sins daily, my heart is clean and ready to be used. I, like David, am not perfect. And like David I continually, humbly ask for forgiveness for the myriad of sins I commit. God renewed and changed my life at salvation.

How does God renew sinners lives?
