Malachi 4:2-3 NIV 2011
“But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves. Then you will trample on the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty.
Malachi was God’s prophet called to the Jews that returned to Judah. His words assured them Messiah would judge His people but restore and bless them. Psalm 118:27, “The Lord is God, and he has made his light shine on us.” Trusting in God brings forgiveness. 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” God is the Son of righteousness rising with healing in His wings.
The past thirty something days we’ve seen who God is in the Old Testament. Daily I’ve seen Him in a new light. My appreciation for everything He is capable of doing in my life has helped me grow. A friend posted “He is love overflowing and ever-flowing” when asked to post, “God is _____.” That reminded me of a song my mom used to sing, “Count your many blessing name them one by one.” God is my everything.
How do God’s divine characteristics bless us?
Thankful He’s God,
