Psalm 37:23-24, John 10:27 NIV 2011

The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

The Lord walks with those who love and walk toward Him. Psalm 66:9, “He has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping.” God is pleased with those that place their faith in Him. Psalm 147:11, “The Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.” God sustains and remains with His people. Psalm 146:14, “The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.” The Lord is the Good Shepherd as found in John 10:14. The Father preserves His faith-filled followers while holding them in His help-filled hand.

There are tiny snippets of time when I experience God’s majestic presence. A thought, an action or just an event causes a smile to cross my lips warming my soul. I think of those as little moments of pure delight. Like David in Psalm 37, He is the balm to my sin-sick soul. He is with me every second of my day, when I yield Him that space. It never ceases to amaze me the patience He has with me. Sealed at salvation, I’m preserved and held in His hand daily.

How is God helpfully holding you today?

Preserved and held,
