Romans 3:22, Hebrews 11:1 NIV 2011

This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Paul knew the righteous lived by faith. Habakkuk 2:4b, “but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness.” He began his letter to the Romans with that reminder. Romans 1:17, “For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last…” Trust in Jesus Christ by Christians is the foundation of faith. Hebrews is a reminder to stand firm in faith. 2 Corinthians 4:18, “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” Faith is founded on trusting Jesus Christ.

How many times have you heard someone say, “Trust me on this”? If that were my husband, I’d believe him. A close friend, I’d believe as well. However someone I hardly know making that statement, I’d take with a grain of salt. Because I know God’s Word is true, I can trust what is written there. I believe God created man. I believe God sent Jesus to save sinners. Accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, knowing and trusting Him are the basis of my faith.

How does faith grow through trusting Jesus Christ?

Trusting Jesus together,
