Psalm 8:3-5 NIV 2011
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.
A Psalm of David who was able to reflect so eloquently on the glory of God all the while understanding His great grace. David was dumbfounded that God would crown man with dominion over everything on earth and yet continue to care for them even when they perpetually sinned against Him. Whether this was written before his adulterous liaison with Bathsheba or after, he personally experienced God’s continued care after confessing his sins. Sin separates mankind from the Father. The Creator gave His people a place of glory and honor. God’s grace and glory are limitless.
Grace is in short supply in the world today. Being able to look at others knowing we stand on level ground at the cross has become difficult. We are all children of God created by Him. We will each stand before our Holy God and give an account when we pass from this life. What will we say to the Lord God Almighty? Daily I’m thankful Jesus’ blood is covering my sins and I am His. God’s grace and glory are limitlessly given to His faithful.
What question is He asking today?
