Ecclesiastes 9:11 NIV 2011
I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor the learned; but time and chance happen to them all.
One commentator wrote, “Success is uncertain-more evidence that humans do not ultimately control events.” The battle always belongs to the Lord. Amos 2:14, “The swift will not escape, the strong will not muster their strength, and the warrior will not save his life. In the battle comes godly wisdom.” Jeremiah 9:24, ‘“But let the one who boasts boast about this: That they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on the earth for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.’ All wisdom comes from God.
Have you ever made a lousy decision? If not, I’ve made enough for both of us. The greatest decision I ever made was deciding to follow Jesus Christ. When the wheels come off my bus, I know the battle is not mine. It belongs to the Lord. I am not in control of my life. Walking as a believer, I need to release control to the Lord because He is much wiser than me. During this season, that’s the first thing I do in the morning. Daily I’m reminded, all wisdom comes from God.
How are we trusting God with the details?
Thankful God’s wise,
