Colossians 1:19-20 NIV 2011
For God was pleased to have all his fulness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
One commentator wrote, “For Paul ‘fulness’ meant the totality of God with all his powers and attributes.” Christ walked as “God with us.” Colossians 2:9, “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.” Through Christ believers are reconciled. Romans 5:10, “For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!” John 1:16, “Out of his fulness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.” Believers are saved by grace alone through Christ alone.
This is the Scripture I flipped to today on my “Promises and Blessings” Scripture Verses for Every Day of the Year. It’s a gift given to me a few years ago by my sister-in-Christ. Last Sunday our guest preacher ended with this question, “How can we share this exclusive message with everyone we meet?” I’m challenged to share the gift Jesus gave me many years ago. I must share God’s amazing grace. I’m a sinner. Once my sins are confessed, I’m forgiven. I’m saved by grace alone through Christ alone.
How will we share Jesus today?
God shows His grace daily,
