Mark 11:24, Ephesians 3:12 NIV 2011

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

Mark’s Gospel was written to encourage God’s people to persevere. He quoted Jesus’ words spoken after his triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Mark walked with Jesus and saw Him pray continually. Luke 11:10, “For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

Paul knew prayer was the key to a believer’s successful walk with the Lord. 1 Corinthians 10:5, “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” Faith in God grows through the fervent prayers of His faithful followers.

Taking every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ is a transformational process. In the early 1990’s a friend said she needed to Ten-five something. My puzzled look led her to share 1 Corinthians 10:5. I’ve learned to put aside anything that stands in the way of a closer walk with Christ. Prayer has been the key to growing my walk with Christ. He knows me but I need to continue to get to know Him. Each time I stop and pray when the world closes in, my faith grows.

How is your faith growing daily?

Choosing to pray,
