Deuteronomy 31:6, 8 NIV 2011

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

The Lord chose Joshua to lead and precede God’s people into the Promised Land. Moses boldly reminded the people of God’s faithfulness in the desert on their journey. “Be strong and courageous,” were God’s words to Joshua in Joshua chapter one and ten. God spoke those same words to both Solomon and to Hezekiah’s military officers in Chronicles one and two. The Lord God would go before them when each one placed their complete trust in Him. God’s people conquer fear by knowing God is consistently with His people.

How often do we wonder why things “work out” the way they do? What I’ve learned over the years is nothing just happens. God has a plan for me as well as all believers. Whether we decide to follow His plan is another story. I try to look for those small little ways He has been involved in all the details each day. I’ve always wanted to be a Joshua, strong and courageous. Sometimes life is hard but knowing God is with me daily I’ll conquering my fears.

How was He consistently with us today?

More than conquerors together,
