Psalm 119:41-43 NIV2011

May your unfailing love come to me Lord, your salvation, according to your promise; then I can answer anyone who taunts me, for I trust your word. Never take your word of truth from my mouth, for I have put my hope in your laws.

God’s promises were given as an eternal covenant with His people. His Word is true. 2 Samuel 7:28, “Sovereign Lord, you are God! Your covenant is trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant.” Because the Psalter placed his trust in the Lord’s unfailing love, he was able to sustain the arrows anyone would sling toward him. Knowing the Word of the Lord is true, it makes God’s laws a part of life and places eternal hope in them all. Psalm 119:114, “You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.” God is true.

Superman was described this way: “He stands for truth, justice and the American way”. Knowing there is no “Superman” it is still important that we stand for something larger than ourselves. As a young girl I learned in Sunday school and at home telling the truth was what God wanted me to do. Studying God’s Word I’ve learned His desire is for me to always speak the truth. Sometimes it may be difficult to speak the truth. God is true and I will speak His truth daily.

What stands in the way of speaking the truth today?

Speaking truthfully together,
