Isaiah 45:6-7 NIV 2011
So that from the rising of the sun to the place of setting people may know there is none besides me. I am the Lord and there is no other. I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things.
Isaiah painted a word picture of God’s majesty with two words: rising and setting. These words integrate God’s remarkable creation. Malachi 1:11a, “My name will be great among the nations, from where the sun rises to where it sets.” God judged the nations surrounding Judah. Zephaniah in 2:11 and 3:9 reveal God’s judgment and redemption for those who call on the name of the Lord. God used darkness to bring disaster in Exodus and elsewhere in His Word. God is consistent in dealing with sin. God makes Himself and His will known. The Lord God is incomprehensible.
Taking time daily reflecting on how God reveals himself in my life strengthens my faith. I saw a post a while back about family but changed it from family to friends: “Don’t worry about the friend that ignores and acts like you don’t matter, love the ones that are there for you no matter what.” God brings into our lives people that will enhance our lives. Those who don’t enhance our lives are window dressing. With this reminder, I’m able to see our Great God truly is incomprehensible.
Where is God visible each day?
Thankful He is God,
