2 Corinthians 10:4-5 NIV 2011
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
Paul urged the church at Corinth to be ready with weapons unlike those of the world. 2 Corinthians 6:7, “in truthful speech and in the power of God, with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left.” God’s power is all that is needed. 1 Corinthians 2:5, “so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.” 1 Corinthians 1:19, “For it is written: ‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise.’” Isaiah 29:14b, “the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish.” The power of God casts down opposition.
Opposition comes in many forms. Sometimes it’s someone asking, “What would ever make you think that way?” Surprised, I immediately send a quick arrow prayer to the Lord asking Him to guide and guard my conversation. It is through His strength and power that my words will be His Words. Why am I amazed when He gives me the right words to say? It’s Him reminding me to take my thoughts captive to Him. God’s power casts down opposition consistently in my life.
Where is God’s power visible daily?
