There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
John assured the readers of his letter that God is love. God’s love is reliable. 1 John 4:16, “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.” 1 John 4:7b, “Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” Paul boldly wrote to the Roman’s, Romans 8:1, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” God’s judgment ended for all sinners saved by Jesus at the cross. Loving the Lord removed their fear. He reminded the faithful of Jesus’ new command. John 13:34, “Love one another.” Loving others believers reflect God’s perfect love.
When I said, “I do,” I was confident my husband and I loved each other. It was the basis of our relationship and feeling secure in each other. Loving the Lord, I know I’m secure in His love since He’s given me the gift of eternal life. My husband’s love gives me a sense of worth. By stopping daily to remember God loves me, I know my life has significance. Loved by my husband, my life is enriched. Loving others we value them, which reflects God ‘s perfect love.
