Psalm 3:4, 66:1, 20 NIV 2011
I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.
Shout for joy to God, all the earth!
Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me.
Psalm 3, “A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom.” David’s psalm revealed his confidence in the Lord; God heard his prayer. Job’s cry differed, Job 30:20, “I cry out to you, God, but you do not answer; I stand up, but you merely look at me.” Having felt unjustly treated, God did redeem Job in Job 42:10-16. Psalm 66 praised God for answered prayer. Psalm 95:1, “Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.” God’s hears His people’s prayers. Psalm 6:4, “Turn, Lord, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love.” God’s people cry out to Him in prayer.
Seated on our last flight to Sydney, I couldn’t get comfortable. The realization that the daily had not been sent made my heart sink. I cried out to God for forgiveness. Not more than a few minutes later our flight attendant came by to give us a pass for wifi in the air. All I could do was smile as I saw God’s hand in the details of even in the electronics of my life. Daily, crying out to God.
What cries does God need to hear today?
