Revelation 21:3-4 NIV 2011
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is not among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
The apostle John’s words from God are to His faithful. He encouraged them to stand firm and never compromise. One of the last two chapters affirms the Lord’s return. The Lord will dwell among His people. Ezekiel 37:27, “My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people.” All pain will be gone. Isaiah 25:8, “He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces…” God promises to wipe away pain.
People, both good and bad, are in pain. The consistent question asked is, “Why does God allow this to happen?” As a believer I’ve been called to help those in pain or suffering. Jesus said in Matthew 25:40, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” God’s Word leads me to daily share the Truth of His promises to wipe away pain.
How will we minister to those who are in pain?
