Joshua 1:7 NIV 2011
“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you, do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.”
God spoke to Joshua that the success of His people was not guaranteed. He said it was dependent upon His commands. He gave the same instructions to Moses. Deuteronomy 8:1, “Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today…” Throughout the Bible God’s people chose not to obey what God said. Psalm 78:10, “They did not keep God’s covenant and refused to live by his law.” Psalm 119:136, “Streams of tears flow from my eyes, for your law is not obeyed.” God continually called His people to heed His Words. God speaks to His people with reason, clarity and purpose.
Something I’ve learned over the past few months; when I hear God’s voice, He’s talking to me. It’s probably not the same as when He spoke to Joshua because there isn’t a huge group of people needing to be led to the Promised Land. However there are still souls that need to know salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ. He definitely wants me to look for those people and share the Good News. When I’m listening for His Voice, God speaks with reason, clarity and purpose.
What people in our circle need to know Jesus Christ saves sinners?
