Mark 10:51-52 NIV 2011
“What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”
“Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.
As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the road begging. Mark 10:47b, “Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me!” Jesus called to him after his second request. Jesus asked him the same question He asked his two disciples in verse 36, “What do you want me to do for you?” The disciples made a selfish request. Jesus asked them the question, “Can you drink the cup I drink?” Jesus denied the disciples request but Jesus granted the faith-based request of the blind man. The glory of God’s grace and goodness are seen through the prism of Spirit led prayer.
My daily walk with Jesus includes time spent in prayer. Sometimes it’s easier to pray for others than myself. It’s hard to be specific when there are so many things that He needs to “fix” in me. He’s still working with me on my frustration with people on the road. But I have found staying off the freeways has helped me the last few days. He’s showing me they are just as flawed as I am. His grace and goodness given to me is my prayer prism.
How is the Spirit leading you to pray?
