Isaiah 40:6b, 7-8 NIV 2-11
And I said, “What shall I cry?
“The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the Lord blows on them. Surely the people are grass. The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”
The second half of the book of Isaiah is filled with words of comfort for God’s people. Isaiah 40:1, “Comfort, comfort my people says your God.” God is in control of every facet of the lives of His faithful. The breath of God reaches even those not standing firm. Psalm 90:5, “Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death—they are like the new grass of the morning.” Those who faithfully follow God’s Word will remain. Isaiah 55:11, “So my word that goes out…it will not return to me empty.” God’s Word stands in spite of man’s frailty.
Spending time in God’s Word daily is key to standing firm in my faith. Today was a day immersed in God’s Word and praying with fellow believers. It was our first BSF Summit and the messages shared ignited excitement for our study “Acts and the Letters of the Apostles” beginning in a month. It was a room filled with men and women that will be shepherding “BSFers” ready to study God’s Word. We will be “Unstoppable” because God’s Word will not return empty. In spite of our frailty God’s Word stands.
How does God’s Word shape our days?
Frail godly servants,
