John 14:2-3 NIV 2011
“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
Jesus told the disciples He would only be with them a little longer but “don’t fear.” Psalm 56:3, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” He reassured them by stating there was a place for them. Heaven is where He was bound and it is a permanent place where there is room for all who trust in Him. He also stated He would return at His second coming. John revealed like information in Revelation 22:7a, “Look, I am coming soon!” Believers can trust Jesus Christ has prepared a place to dwell with Him forever.
Choosing to look at life in light of eternity makes “the things of earth grow strangely dim.” This helps me streamline my life and any crazy desires. Each season brings a time of paring down and changing out clothing and shoes. I think God wants me daily to pare down my life so I don’t loose sight of His commission: I need to approach those who do not know Jesus. We want others trusting Jesus so they will dwell with Him forever.
How will we share Jesus today?
Awaiting that sweet reunion,
