Romans 5:12,18 NIV 2011
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned.
Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men.
Paul concluded the reason for the writing this portion of his letter. Man was condemned through Adam’s sin, 1:18-3:20, and is justified through Jesus Christ, 3:21-5:11. Sin and salvation; what began in the garden with Adam was finished at the cross with Christ. While the law God gave Moses was to point the people to Him, Israel was unable to follow it perfectly. Believers should expect a lifelong struggle with sin even though slaves to righteousness. Those justified through faith enjoy security and satisfaction in Jesus Christ.
I’ve seen social media posts from some telling us to teach children to love. They believe the world will be a better place. That frustrates me because all the love in the world is not going to change the word. Sin is the problem and Jesus is the only answer. In John 13:34b Jesus said, “Love one another.” We learn to love one another by loving Jesus first. No one is able to love without Jesus Christ. Justified through faith, daily I’m safe and secure in Him.
Where is Jesus asking us to love others?
