Psalm 34:15, 17-18 NIV 2011

The eyes of the Lord on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry.

The righteous cry out and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

David began this psalm exalting the Lord as his Deliverer. Dave knew God intimately because of the time he spent in prayer. Job 36:7, “He does not take his eyes off the righteous; he enthrones them with kings and exalts them forever.” Drawing on previous occasions, David knew God was present and heard his prayers. Psalm 145:18-19, “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.” The Lord hears the prayers of His penitent people.

For more than thirty-five years, I’ve been a prayer warrior and have seen God faithfully answer my prayers. He’s shown me over the years to be specific so I’m able to see His answers. When some think He’s not answering their prayers, He is merely saying, “No” or “Not now.” It’s been made clear that after hearing “no” He shows me He’s got much greater plans ahead. I will trust and wait daily on His perfect timing. The Lord is close at hand and hears my prayers.
