Proverbs 8:10-11, 33-34 NIV 2011
“Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
“Now then, my children, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways. Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway.”
One commentator wrote, “According to the purpose and theme of the book (1:1-7), Proverbs was written to give ‘prudence to those who are simple, knowledge and discretion to the young’ (1:4), and to make the wise even wiser (1:5).” Throughout the book authored by Solomon as well as others, the words they chose were well defined with a godly focus. Revere the Lord and rely on Him to remain secure and prosperous. Proverbs 11:30, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who is wise saves lives.” God is our Wisdom.
There are times when the answer to a problem becomes crystal clear through prayer. The reverse is true when I rush forward before spending time with the Lord, that road is foggy and long. Turning to God in prayer makes me wiser and more focused on my mission. Because of my relationship with Him as a saved sinner, I know I’ve been redeemed and was given eternal life through Christ. Daily typing wherever I am, I’m confident God is my Wisdom.
How does God’s wisdom guide believers every day?
