“Look, I am coming soon! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
“Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.
The Revelation according to John ends in chapter twenty-two with both an invitation and warning. Jesus will return. He has many names and each one is descriptive of many of His attributes. He was with God in the beginning at creation and He will again be present at the earth’s end. The seventh blessing is the Jewish number of completion, seven. Believers will be blessed to go into God’s city. Being washed in the blood of Christ, believers will live face to face with the Father.
After spending time with friends and family I’ve realized one thing: good friendships made with much history including family members will never end. They wait and we pick up right where we were when we were last together. This is the picture I have of Jesus upon His return to earth; we are here waiting for our blessed reunion with Him. Daily while we wait, we can’t waste a minute being frivolous with moments we are given. Those who’ve not yet decided to follow Christ need to be our priority. We’ll all spend eternity with the Lord God.
