Psalm 27:1, 14 NIV 2011
The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
A beautiful psalm of David offered to the Lord thanking Him for delivering him from his enemies. David knew he was secure in the Lord even during those times when pursued by Saul. Psalm 97:11, “Light shines on the righteous and joy on the upright in heart.” David feared nothing when the Lord was with him. Psalm 56:11, “in God I trust and am not afraid.” David was confidant God would always show up. Psalm 33:20, “We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield.” Faith filled walks without fear require repetitive reliance on the Father.
If you’ve not read this Psalm, I challenge you to do so. A man after God’s own heart, David, poured out his heart to God Almighty. When I’m unsure how to pray during times of unrest, I’ll read this Psalm with confidence He hears me. The feeling I’m wrapped in His love and faithfulness calms all my thoughts and fears. The world may come crashing down around me, but He is still God. Walking by faith there is no fear of what lies ahead. My faith reveals God is daily reliable.
How does God see us faithful not fearful?
Walking faithfully with God,
