He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done form beginning to end.
I know everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken away from it.
The author of this fourth book of poetry in God’s Word has not been credited to one author. Ecclesiastes 3:1, “There is a time for everything..” leads to fourteen uses of, “a time to…” Verse eleven is the summary for the chapter. The world God created is more beautiful and intriguing than anything we can imagine. But mere humans will find no satisfaction in any of it apart from God. The desire for eternity was planted in the hearts of everyone. Satisfaction here on earth will only be found through a relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ.
Satisfaction guaranteed was attached to everything we bought in a very different age. Today, we are hard pressed to get any guarantee with purchases. When choosing a mate, do we choose a forever mate or one that fits the bill today? More than forty-eight years ago, I answered, “I do” and vowed, “until death do us part.” I approach my view of eternity in much the same way. I chose to follow Christ knowing it has been the only place I will ever find daily satisfaction.
