Matthew 7:24-25 NIV 2011
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, yet it did not fall because it had its foundation on the rock.”
This is the final compilation of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. He wanted those who heard His Words to be moved to action in their faith. Psalm 18:2, “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.” All who in fact confess Jesus Christ as Lord will be saved. It involves building faith on the Truth that Jesus spoke. It is the only foundation that will stand the test of time. Jesus Christ is the Rock on which faith is built.
Reading God’s Word, studying His Word in BSF as well as having a pastor that preaches from God’s Word are all ways for me to remain in the Word daily. This has been the foundation I’ve been building upon for forty years. Making a decision to accept Christ as my Lord and Savior took place almost sixty years ago. Through all the years, Jesus has been the one thing that has never changed. He is the same. He’s the Rock on which I’ve built my faith.
How have you built your faith on Jesus Christ?
