Isaiah 49:8-9a NIV 2011
This is what the Lord says: “In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances, to say to the captives, ‘Come out,’ and to those in darkness, ‘Be free!’”
The year of Jubilee or forgiveness could be the backdrop for verse eight. Leviticus 26:10, “Consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants.” Just as God saved the Israelites during their return from Egypt, the exiles would be saved and returned from captivity. Jesus, speaking in a Nazareth synagogue, declared the oppressed would be free. Luke 4:19, “To proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” God’s message of salvation is communicated through His word of truth.
By reading the Bible from cover to cover, beginning in Genesis and ending in Revelation God’s Truth is found on every page. My faith is founded upon believing God’s Word is True and without error. Adam and Eve were tossed out of the Garden of Eden because of their sin and there was no one without sin until Jesus came. God promised to save His people by sending the Messiah. Through daily study and knowing God’s Word I learned Jesus, my Savior, came to die for my sins.
How will we share the message of salvation today?
Jesus’ saved sinners,
